Over the past two years, the California Political Elites have attacked our personal and individual freedoms under the disguise of Emergency Mandates. These very mandates destroyed the lives of many Californians. For two years, we were told to hide our faces from one another. For two years, we were told to stay six feet apart. For two years, we were told to stay in our homes. For two years, we were forced to let our parents and grandparents come to the end of their lives without being allowed to visit with them in person. For two years, we were forced to not go to work. For two years, we were forced to watch our family, friends, neighbors and fellow Californians close their businesses. For two years, we were told to get a vaccine authorized under the “Emergency Use” designation to protect us from COVID. And for the last two years… the list goes on and on.
The results of these actions by our leadership in California are undeniable. Over the last two years we were not able to see the smiles, experience that hug, or enjoy a night out with friends and family. Sadly, we were not allowed to sit with our dying family members and share how much they meant to us or have them share some of the wisdom learned along this journey called life. Some struggled to pay the bills and keep food on the table for their family, let alone have enough left over to lend a helping hand. Our entrepreneurial spirit was temporarily squashed as lifelong businesses closed. Some were coerced into getting the vaccine in order to keep their job.
These issues affect every Californian and American alike. The current California leadership is aggressively working to take away our freedom to make our own choices. Government should never have the authority to tell us how to live our lives, how we are to raise our children, if and when we can go to work, or if and when we can open a business, or set the rules for us to operate those very businesses. Never should Government have authority over how we spend time with our loved ones or take away the joy of our children by canceling sports, making them hide their faces, or canceling school years.
It's time to stand and be counted. It’s time to stand and fight for our freedoms. Our children are counting on us to fight for them, for their choices, for their rights, and for our great state of California. Make no mistake, if we don’t fight now, then when? If not us, then who? Now is the time. It’s time to stand…
As a young boy I recall my father teaching me the importance of our Second Amendment rights. He taught me that a free country can only be free if its citizens are willing to fight for that very freedom. As a measure of strength and responsibility, my father taught me how to safely use and maintain firearms for recreational shooting, hunting, and ultimately for protection of life and property if the need ever arises. These very principles I have enjoyed passing down to my sons.
I believe it is not only a right to bear arms, but it is a responsibility each of us must accept if we wish to secure our God-given freedoms in this nation.
I believe that the Second Amendment should be honored as written by our founding fathers. It is not a document to be changed by political elites to fit their liberal agenda.
I support Constitutional Carry Laws. I believe that the Second Amendment should be a required study course in the educational system. When people are properly trained and understand their right to defend life and property, crime will decrease, and our communities will be much safer.
I believe a well-armed people is required to defend and support our armed forces. As the military is tasked with defending our nation from enemies, foreign and domestic, We The People need to have their backs. Holding down the fort back home and give them peace knowing we have not left their side.
The Education system today is a complete disaster. The system is failing our students. Increased drop-out rates, lower testing scores, and failure to teach basic math, reading, and writing. The introduction of “common core” and “CRT” teachings, has contributed to these failures.
As Governor, I will work to correct the failing education system. I will support a parent's right to choose what is best for their child’s education. I will work to get us back to what matters most. Providing an educational system that focuses on teaching what is needed to be successful at life. Math so they can understand finances, Reading so they can get a job or start a business, Writing so they can communicate, and History – United States History, so they can understand how and why we are a Free Nation Under God. Our history paved the way for today’s success. Without it, we will surely repeat the same mistakes. I will support Homeschooling efforts. I will work to revise how schools are funded, changing from student count to success rates. It is time to stand.
There is an unprecedented increase in crime rates throughout California. The passage of legislation that minimizes the price to be paid by perpetrators, has emboldened those very people to push the limits even further. The current policies have no real meaning if there is no penalty to pay. The rise of theft, robberies, property damage crimes, and human trafficking is destroying our society. When the criminal has no fear, then the criminal has no limits to the evil. This is unacceptable.
As governor, I will roll back these horrible policies and make each crime punishable. I will empower our law enforcement agencies to apprehend these perpetrators who have complete disregard for the people of California. I will see to it that funding is adequate for law enforcement and all first responder agencies. This is not a money issue, this is a public safety issue. The people of California are guaranteed this right by the California State Constitution.
California leads the nation in homelessness. It accounts for one-fifth of the homeless population of the United States. Homelessness is a result of poor planning, regulations, and lack of leadership. This is a symptom of failed policies.
As governor, I will work collaboratively with community leaders, faith-based organizations, and non-profits to implement practical solutions that build on existing efforts. These solutions will bring sustainable programs across the state.
The economic impacts resulting from two years of mandates, regulations, increasing costs, and the unsustainable tax increases placed upon businesses and workers alike are far reaching. California, once considered the greatest economy in the nation, is now pushing businesses to leave this state. Through the actions of our state leadership, successful companies are leaving California. This is unacceptable.
As governor, I will work to encourage business growth, lower costs of doing business in California, entice companies to hire more employees, minimize regulations that stop growth, and work with our farmers to strengthen and increase their harvest output, which is the backbone of our country. I will work to change how California government conducts business. California will do business with California companies. We will open the doors to competitive bidding, reduce qualification requirements, and help provide a pathway for the small business owner to contract work. Together we will once again be the greatest economy of the Nation.
Taxes in California are among the highest in the nation. As a result of failed projects and mass exodus of large corporations, the working class of California is burdened with paying the bill. Taxes are directly tied to current and previous administration spending efforts. We need to stop wasting taxpayer's dollars for projects with no benefit.
As governor, I will work to put an end to wasteful spending, bring the budget back to a sustainable reality, and no longer allocate funds for pet projects to satisfy special interest groups. I will work to reduce taxes for all Californians. We will not accept the status quo. When we control spending, we can reduce taxes.
Climate change has become a polarizing topic under the current administration. One specific issue is the increase and severity of wildfires in California. Wildfires are a major contributor to carbon emissions and air quality. The wildfire issue is a direct result of failed policies, under funding, and a lack of leadership. Continued budget cuts year over year have left California exposed to more, larger, and dangerous wildfires. This is unacceptable.
As Governor, I will work to provide funding for preventative measures, standby resources, and properly equipped teams to act quickly and effectively protect lives and property. I will work with industry professionals to address specific personnel and operational needs. Together we will be better prepared to respond to wildfire emergencies than ever before. I will work to ensure that those who are responsible for such wildfires are made responsible for the costs as well.
Housing in California is no longer feasible for the next generation. In fact, California politicians have established too many regulations that drive costs to unaffordable levels. Developers, builders, and the DIYer's can no longer afford to plan and build great projects. Permit fees, impact fees, planning fees, school fees, fire fees, environmental fees, inspection fees, and a host of other agency fees drive the cost per unit well beyond the reach of the working class, let alone the next generation.
As governor, I will reduce these costs through collaboration with industry professionals. We will implement programs and processes to make homes affordable again. We will pave the way for development while minimizing the impacts to the environment. We will strive to make home ownership affordable for all Californians, because homeowners are invested in their communities and neighborhoods.
